  ROM WALK King Street East Newspapers and Newsmakers

  Another chance to discover something new about Toronto!

  Walking along Toronto's first main street, we will learn about the historical characters who shaped the city and the colourful stories of the newspapers headquartered there from the 1820's up until today.

  Join us for a guided tour of King St. East, Toronto, lead by ROM tour guide, Virginia Van Vliet.

  Date is Tuesday, September 8 '26 at 10:30am till 12:30pm.

  Cost is $16 per member and maximum registrants is 20.

  Starting point is North West corner of King St. East and Berkeley St. and end point is King East and Victoria St. (near the King Subway Station). 

  You can drive yourself or join us on the Go Train to Union Station where you can walk about 20 min. to the starting point or take a bus or street car there from nearby Union Station.

  There are many restaurants near the ending point which is just a short walk to Union Station.

• Historical, Hysterical, Ducky Scavenger Hunt

  Time for your favourite Fall event!  This year there is a twist.  Instead of car power we shall be using shank's mare.  No gas required!  Yes, it is a walking scavenger hunt through the Village of Brooklin.  With clever hints and fun riddles, you and your 3 team mates will be able to answer, record, and gather all the "stuff" needed and discover things about Brooklin you didn't know.   Bring a pen, phone with camera, and cash or credit card to purchase your beverage of choice at the Pub for lunch.  Relax and enjoy the stroll.  There are park benches scattered throughout the village. 

  It all starts Friday, Sept. 25 at 9am at the Brooklin Pub, 15 Baldwin St.,  Brooklin,  where you will receive instructions and  light breakfast snacks.  Return no later than 12:30pm for lunch.  Event ends at 2:30pm

  Prizes, morning snack, and lunch included.  Beverages are extra.

  Cost is $38 per member.  Cost is $43 per guest [GUESTS MUST BE REGISTERED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE MEMBER]

  Do you like to laugh?  Well, we have a treat in store for you!  We have reserved 20 spots at Globus Theatre, 2300 Pigeon Lake Rd., Bobcaygeon, ON to see Norman Foster's play "A Woman's Love List". The performance is on Saturday October 3 at 2pm.  

  There are lovely restaurants in Bobcaygeon and Lindsay to stop for dinner or if you are wanting an ice cream treat,  you can stop at Kawartha Dairy in Lindsay as you make your way home.

  For carpooling arrangements, after you register, click on registrants to see who is going.

  Don't delay.  Avoid disappointment.  Register asap.

  If the play is sold out,  Please Put Your Name on the waitlist in case more tickets become available.

  Register

  Come join us for a wonderful cooking demo at Longo's in Brooklin.  Harvest Table is on the menu and we will watch the chef prepare Apple Cider Roasted Chicken, roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Maple Dijon Brussel Sprouts (can substitute roasted stuffed acorn squash for vegetarian;  gluten free).  Of course, we will be sampling everything and receiving the recipes to make them at home.

  It all takes place on Thursday October 15 at 1pm.

  Cost is $47 per member and space is limited.
